Turkish HVAC-R Industry Focuses on New Business Opportunities in South Africa

Turkish HVAC- R Exporters’ Association (ISIB) organized a Sectoral Trade Mission to Johannesburg, South Africa, from 18–21 August 2026, with the aim of increasing the visibility and export potential of the Turkish HVAC-R industry in the South African market and contributing to the development of new business partnerships.

The trade mission brought together 20 Turkish companies operating across various segments of the HVAC-R industry. As part of the program, 144 one-to-one B2B meetings were held with 25 South African companies on 19 August.

The delegation also held meetings with representatives of SARACCA and the ASHRAE South Africa Chapter, two prominent organizations in South Africa’s HVAC-R industry, to discuss potential opportunities for sectoral cooperation. In addition, the delegation paid an official visit to H.E. Kezban Nilvana Darama Yıldırımgeç, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Pretoria.

Through these meetings, the mission aimed to increase the visibility of Turkish HVAC-R companies in the South African market, establish direct contact with potential business partners, and create new opportunities to further strengthen trade relations between Türkiye and South Africa.

MURAT BAKANAY

Murat Bakanay was born in 1968 in Istanbul. He graduated from Eskişehir Anadolu University, Faculty of Business Administration, Department of Business Administration. In 1996, he was entitled to hold an Independent Accountant and Financial Advisor License. After completing his military service, he started to work at Niba Soğutma Kuleleri A.Ş. which he is one of founding member. He still serves as the General Manager and Vice Chairman of the Board in the same company. He has been a member of the Board of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Manufacturers Association of Turkey for a term. He is married with two children.
