Continuing its full-throttle efforts to bring all exporting companies in the Turkish HVAC-R sector under one roof, ISIB hosted 38 companies from 17 different European countries in İstanbul in the European Buyers Mission. The Buyers Mission Program took place between the dates May 7 and 10. On May 8, 2024, B2B meetings were held to assess commercial partnerships. The B2B meetings on May 8 lasted all day, and the next day, visits were paid to local businesses in Istanbul. This organization promoted Türkiye while also highlighting our sector’s strength and potential on a global scale. Through bilateral meetings with businesses from EU members, beneficial relationships for global cooperation were established.
On behalf of ISIB, Vice Chairman of the Board Salih Zeki Poyraz and Board Member Okan Murat Erenoğlu participated in the mission, which included over 80 member companies from Türkiye. Officials stated that the meetings with the participating companies were fruitful and that this event would strengthen the cooperation between EU countries and Türkiye.
Exports to EU countries are expected to reach 3.1 billion dollars by 2024. This figure equals 44% of Türkiye’s total exports. Since the EU and Türkiye have signed a Customs Union agreement, products enter the EU market as duty-free. Furthermore, the exchange rate advantage raises the preference for HVAC-R solutions in Europe. The quality of Turkish HVAC-R products enhances the Turkish brands’ appeal and competitiveness in the European market. When all of these factors are considered, it is expected that the mission will contribute to increased exports to EU countries while maintaining our competitive advantage in the EU market.
